A Girls Night In: Women Enjoy Pure Romance, Page Two

Pure Romance partyContinued from first page.

Many people grow up with the convention that the topic of intercourse cannot and should not be talked about outside the bedroom. It can be difficult to discuss a recent sexual encounter in a public place like a library or grocery store without receiving weird looks from passerby. But at Pure Romance parties, it is in vogue to discuss sex.

The cornerstone of the Pure Romance experience is that partygoers get to sample all of the current products being sold by the company. There is “Kissable Pink” body powder that can make skin taste like summer fresh strawberries. Or perhaps the partygoer prefers the taste of birthday cake with the oral stimulant lotion “Great Head.”

Women can also test performance sexual enhancement creams titled “O” and “Boost” by applying them in private.

Pure Romance also provides the opportunity for people to host customizable theme parties. Want to enfranchise a depressed friend who just got out of a relationship? Host a “Back on the Market” party. Are you the maid of honor in your best friend’s wedding? Host a bachelorette party.

“In 2013, over 4.8 million women around the world will attend a Pure Romance party,” Ephron said.

The parties not only act as a liberating experience for women but also function as a bonding experience for the women involved.

“Pure Romance parties are a great opportunity to hang out with your girlfriends,” Hood junior Bianca Padilla said.

But the parties are not just about liberating and indoctrinating women into an environment where sex-talk is the norm. Pure Romance strives to teach women about sexual health.

The consultants playfully label the parts of the anatomy of a woman in a clever jargon: the “doorbell,” the “front door,” and the “backdoor” (you get the idea). She intricately details what products can go in the different body parts.

Pure Romance also sells a line of products that directly address the subject of sexual health, called the Pink Ribbon line.

The product “Come Clean” is a safe adult toy cleaner that can be used for most sex-toys. Pure Romance also sells ben-wa balls for vaginal exercises and a variety of other products that help exercise a woman’s pelvic region.

“Pure Romance cares about educating women about not only their intimacy but their health. The corporation cares about women making safe decisions & being able to give back to women who have suffered an illness, such as breast cancer,” Bridgette said.

The corporation spearheaded two charitable organizations: The Patty Brisben Foundation for Women’s Sexual Health, which strives to improve women’s health options, and Sensuality, Sexuality, Survival which attempts to help women recapture their sexuality and femininity following cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Pure Romance not only fosters a sense of empowerment among their consumers, but their employees as well.
Brisben, the single mother who launched Pure Romance to spend more time with her family, created the job of consultant to allow women the ability to find financial freedom and seek their own success in a career that caters to other women.

Eighteen years after Brisben started the corporation, Pure Romance is now a multi-million dollar enterprise.

All women, whether looking for courage in their sexuality and sex lives, knowledge about their sexual health or power within their careers can find a refuge in Pure Romance.

“Pure Romance is a people driven not product driven business, which at the core is the empowerment of women,” Ephron said.
